Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)

What is an Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)?

Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are investment funds that can be bought and sold on the stock exchange like stocks, aiming to track the performance of an underlying asset (stock market index, commodity, currency, etc.) or a specific strategy as closely as possible. They offer both the diversification advantage of an investment fund and the ability to be bought and sold throughout the day on the stock exchange.

Key Features of Exchange-Traded Funds:

  • Index Tracking: They generally track indices such as BIST 30, BIST 100, or commodities such as gold and silver.
  • Easy Trading: They are bought and sold at real-time prices during trading sessions.
  • Low Cost: Management fees are lower than traditional investment funds.
  • Portfolio Diversification: Invest in multiple stocks/assets with a single transaction.
